Live video chatting app

Social media makes it easier for people to connect with their friends and loved ones, no matter where they are. Using these apps, you can send them text messages and even initiate a call—both voice and video. HouseParty is yet another social app that you can use if you like to socialize without leaving your home. It is a live video chatting app that allows up to eight people in a video call. It also lets you play with your friends so it feels like you are hanging out. On top of that, you can also have several group calls—parties—at once.

Effortless face-to-face connection

HouseParty makes face-to-face connection effortless. Unlike more traditional video chatting apps, like Facetime and Skype, there are plenty of things you can do with the program. When you launch the app, you will be able to see which of your friends are online and ready to chat. You can also easily enter a chat because it doesn't require you to initiate a call. All you need to do is to click the waving hand emoji beside the name of the user to let them know you're available.

As mentioned, the app allows up to eight persons in a group chat. The app splits the screen between you and the person you are video calling in your chat room, so everyone can see each other. To make your room more private, you can lock it. With this, no one can enter your call unless invited. HouseParty makes your video calls more fun by allowing you to play games, including Heads Up, Trivia, and Quickdraw—all of which support up to eight players.

All in all, HouseParty is a great way to keep in touch with your friends. It offers lots of things that are arguably more interesting than other video messaging apps. It allows you to join more than one video call at once. Plus, it's relatively easy to get friends on the app since it pulls contacts from other social networking apps like Facebook and Snapchat. However, expect a lot of call dropouts, especially if you have an unstable internet connection.

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
